  • "Olive Branch Campground" in Oregonia, Ohio - was rated: 2
Park is in need of some updating. Had reservations for a week. Upon arrival they had rain previously, and moved people onto our reserved site. We had to stay on another site, and then had to move, to our original reserved site a day later. Owner complained I did not pay enough money for the week, but I explained I paid when I made the reservations, and if he wanted more money, I would leave and he would have to give me a refund. He said forget it. This park is in really sad shape for a park that is close to Kings Island (since Kings Island shut down their campgrounds). He would get a lot of their business if he would just make some improvements. I will never stay here again as long as it is under the current ownership. We camped in a motorhome.

  • "Silver Rapids Lodge" in Ely, Minnesota - was rated: 7
This campground is old and the systems are a little tired. The new owners are doing a lot of updates over the winter. The restaurant and bar had good food and service. Boat docks are available for campground users. This is a very pretty area and the owners went out of their way to make my stay pleasant.

  • "Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina" in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina - was rated: 10
Fabulous park. Like camping in a garden. Great golf, restaurants, and shopping nearby. Also try the onsite Sunset Grille.

  • "Cypress Lakes RV Park" in Calvert City, Kentucky - was rated: 6
Visited park in 40' motorhome. Lots of very deep pot holes on entrance road for about 75', then road is good and paved. Lots of full time & seasonal campers, but they are well separated from overnighters. There were ten long pull thrus. Sites are gravel and large enough for any size coach with any number of slides. Utilities were modern. The water connection was only 12" above the sewer hookup-I like some separation. Sites had grass and table, but grass needed mowing and trimming. Satellite was challenging due to shade trees. Pool was very nice, but there was a lack of pool furniture. What they did have was dirty and in disrepair. Good value for an overnight stay just off I-24. Best park we have found in this area with a pool.

  • "FJ McLain State Park" in Hancock, Michigan - was rated: 6
Expensive even without including the required motor vehicle permits ($58 total for MH and car yearly passes otherwise it's $8 per day for the MH and $6 per park for the toad) and they don't have water at the sites but once you get over that the park isn't bad if you get the right site. We had site #24 which was pretty level, shaded and big enough for our 30 ft class A but had no privacy whatever. Our area of the campground was really crowded the weekend we were there but thankfully not too noisy. The larger sites with some greenery between for privacy are about 48 through 71. They are quite a distance from the showers but pit toilets are nearby. Bath/shower house had private individual showers and one in with the restrooms seemed OK but we did not use them. Dump is easy to access and has fresh potable water that you can reach while dumping your tanks. The drive to Copper Harbor through Calumet, Eagle River and Eagle Harbor was worth doing. Ft. Wilkins State Park and the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse exhibits were interesting as well.

  • "Bluewater Key RV Resort" in Bluewater Key, Florida - was rated: 10
Perfect place! Worth every dollar this place charges. Here are couple of observations. Mosquitos were tough in the morning and early evening, managable with Off spray. Mosquito control did spray one night in the area and that helped for a couple of days. Not the parks fault of course this is Florida in August. Boating...we rented a 12 foot jon boat with a 15hp outboard and it was perfect for the very, very shallow area. We did make it to the ocean but it was tricky and a little scary until we figured out the route. No marked channels. Don't even think about bringing a large boat here, you will regret it. For the record the manager did tell us this before we booked. Anyway, the little jon boat was fun and took us every were we wanted including snorkling, fishing and getting lobster. View... spend the money and get a waterfront site if you can. We will be back for sure!
