Small RV Travel Fun In New Hampshire

Visitors with a small RV will enjoy visiting the area of White Mountain in New Hampshire. Visitors will want to start their visit at the White Mountains Visitors Center which will teach the history of the area. Visitors can explore the history of the Indians of New Hampshire which were the Penobscot, the Passamaquoddy, the Micman, and the Maliseet. Later on the area became a logging hotbed. Then it became known for its three grand hotels. Next proceed north to the Flume Gorge and the Franconia Notch Visitor Center. Those loving to hike should take the tour of Flume Gorge, named one of America's top ten state parks for beauty and its wonderful covered bridge. Next continue on to Franconia State Park to visit the site known as Old Man of the Mountain made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne and Daniel Webster. Visitors can also play in Lake Powell which is the headwater for the Pemigewasset River. It is a wonderful place for brook trout fly fishing. A campground is available for those with a small RV.

Visitors should ride the 4,080 feet tall Cannon Mountain 80 passenger Tramway early the next morning. Arriving at the observation deck visitors can see mountains in four different states and mountains in Canada. Make sure to leave time to visit the New England Ski Museum at the base of the tramway. Also from this location hike several marked paths ranging in length from 1 mile to 3 miles. Then continue on to Crawford Notch and tour the Mount Washington Hotel built in 1902 at a cost of 1.7 million dollars. Visitors can also play the two public golf courses located at the hotel. Those who want to see some outstanding natural scenery will want to visit Elephant Head and Flume Cascade. End the second day with some souvenir shopping in North Conway before camping in a small RV.

Visitors should start the third day at the Victorian train station in Conway and take one of two available train rides. Visitors will have two choices. Visitors can enjoy a scrumptious lunch on the train. Then it's on to the Albany Covered Bridge and finally on to Lincoln.
